Your Name is Near

 

We give thanks to you, O God; 

we give thanks; your name is near. 

People tell of your wondrous deeds.  

Psalm 75:1

I give thanks this day for the blessings seen through eyes of trial and tears.  I give thanks for an ever-faithful God.  I give thanks because He is my Refuge and my Rock.  Oh, I am so very grateful:

• the birth of Jesus
• His death
• His resurrection
• all...from which I became free when I was reborn into this new life, this gift eternal
• trusting in the One Who is trustable
• learning life's lessons
• being teachable
• the godly wisdom of my sister-in-law
• winter in South Texas
• a sweet sister
• caring about and for my Mama
• Loretta gifting Mom plus other nursing home residents
• nephew got married
• a new friend
• Haagen Dazs ice cream ...vanilla milk chocolate almond bar on a stick
• driving to Houston area to share Christmas on Monday with ken's family, only we surprised them in our coming...fun surprise!
• because they waited til Monday (as some had to work Sunday), we were able to have Christmas with Mom too
• Abby, the most delightful 3 year old
• Abby is bright and excelling in all - she was in terrible auto accident at 6 months old with brain injuries.  She recovered after a looonnnggg haul with still future surgery in her adolescence.  She is doing exceptionally well.  Praising the LORD.  
• Abby learning my name after just a day with her.  Had more time there so got to hear her call me by name!
• Playing with Abby, reading with her.
• Napping by Abby on Nana's bed!
• Tori was so glad to see us.
• Nook Simple Touch
• Z's smile as he waits for his bride to meet him at the altar
• Z sharing with his dear grandmother over the phone that his wedding day was the happiest day of his life
• Kathryn's love for us
• joyful moments
• silence
• Eternity
•  

Father God, I thank You for opening my eyes to the small and the large.  Thank You for giving me an ounce of peace this day.  Thank You for loving me through trials and tribulations.  I know You are always with me and want me to stay close.  I want that as well.  You are my Shelter.  You are my Abba Father.  You are the One Whom I can turn to and know that You are for me.  Guide my steps, O LORD.  Guide my steps.  Amen. 

 

But I will rejoice forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
